IMMIGRATION CASE TIMELINE
While most immigration applications typically go through three main stages (“Key Stages”), the duration of each stage may vary depending on factors such as the type of application, country of submission, chosen service type, and any specific complexities associated with the case. Some applications may involve additional stages. For example, applications related to skilled work visas and other specific categories may require prior endorsement. In the case of skilled visas, the Home Office mandates that the sponsor holds a sponsorship license. Additional steps, such as conducting a 28-day Resident Labour Market Test (RLMT) before sponsoring the skilled worker, may also be involved.
KEY STAGES
- Stage 1: Initial Instructions, Inquiries & Preparation
The initial stage involves obtaining instructions, providing strategic advice, and preparing the application. The duration of stage 1 can range from a few days to several weeks or even months, depending on individual circumstances and the agreed-upon timing of the strategic plan, which takes into consideration the specific requirements of each client.
- Stage 2: Application Submission and Home Office Review
This stage involves submitting the application and going through the Home Office’s process of consideration and decision-making. The processing times by the Home Office can vary widely, ranging from as little as 24 hours to over six months. The exact duration depends on various factors, including the type of application, availability of premium services, the applicant’s country of origin, and any specific complexities associated with the case. For the most up-to-date estimation of Home Office processing times, please refer to the following link.
- Stage 3 – Post Decision Advice
After a decision has been made on the application, our team promptly provides post-decision advice to our clients. We offer guidance on the next steps to be taken following the decision, ensuring our clients are well-informed and supported throughout the process.

- Other disbursements, as mentioned in the “Services not included” section, may encompass additional third-party expenses and unforeseen costs.
